The system mounts a 12.7mm heavy machine gun with a range of 1.5 km and features gyro stabilization, auto-tracking, and joystick control. It includes HD optics, a thermal camera, and a laser rangefinder detecting targets up to 6.3 km — making it ideal for naval ships, patrol boats, armoured vehicles, and fixed posts. Another big step in Pakistan’s drive for indigenous defence technology

Karachi, November 4, 2025 — Pakistani defence manufacturer Stingray Technologies showcased its state-of-the-art Remote-Controlled Weapon Station (RCWS) at the Pakistan International Maritime Exhibition and Conference (PIMEC 2025), marking another milestone in the country’s growing defence innovation sector.

The newly revealed RCWS is designed for deployment on naval ships, missile boats, small patrol craft, armoured vehicles, and fixed defence posts, offering flexible integration across multiple platforms.

According to the company, the system can mount a 12.7 mm heavy machine gun with an effective engagement range of up to 1.5 kilometres, giving operators enhanced precision and firepower in both maritime and ground environments.

The RCWS features two-axis gyro stabilization, automatic and manual target tracking, and can be operated via joystick or control console, ensuring seamless operation in day, night, and all-weather conditions.

Its advanced fire-control system is equipped with a full-HD electro-optical sensor, thermal imaging camera, and a laser rangefinder capable of detecting targets at distances up to 6.3 kilometres. These technologies allow for accurate target acquisition and engagement under challenging operational scenarios.

A Stingray Technologies spokesperson described the RCWS as a “highly reliable, stabilized, and sensor-rich system built to meet the modern demands of both naval and land-based missions.”

The unveiling took place during PIMEC 2025, hosted at the Karachi Expo Centre, which brought together local and international exhibitors showcasing innovations in defence, maritime security, and blue-economy technologies.

The event highlights Pakistan’s continued push for indigenous defence capabilities, with companies like Stingray Technologies at the forefront of developing smart, multi-domain weapon and surveillance systems.

As Pakistan strengthens its maritime and defence industries, such locally designed platforms are expected to play a crucial role in enhancing national security and supporting export potential within the global defence market.
