A suicide attack outside Islamabad’s District Court has killed 12 people and wounded 27. Pakistan blames Fitna al-Khawarij (TTP), describing it as an Indian-backed Afghan proxy. Defence Minister Khawaja Asif declared Pakistan in a “state of war,” vowing decisive retaliation against foreign-sponsored terror networks.

Islamabad | November 12, 2025 — Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has declared that the nation is now in a “state of war” after a devastating suicide bombing outside Islamabad’s District Court complex, claimed by Fitna al-Khawarij the Indian-backed Afghan proxy group operating under the banner of Tehreek-e-Taliban (TTP).

At least 12 people were killed and 27 injured when the bomber detonated explosives near a police vehicle after failing to enter the court premises. Witnesses described scenes of panic as vehicles caught fire and bodies lay scattered near the courthouse entrance.

Pakistani intelligence and security agencies have identified Fitna al-Khawarij as part of a broader foreign-backed network orchestrating attacks from Afghan soil. Officials assert that India’s Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) has been funding and directing such operations to destabilize Pakistan internally.

“This is not a local insurgency; it’s a coordinated proxy war launched from across our borders,” said Defence Minister Khawaja Asif. “The enemy hides in Kabul but answers to handlers in Delhi.”

Pakistan’s government has repeatedly accused the Afghan Taliban regime of offering safe haven to militants targeting Pakistan, warning that continued tolerance of these sanctuaries could destroy regional stability.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the attack, calling it “another chapter in India’s state-sponsored terrorism against Pakistan.”

“India uses Afghan territory and militant proxies to wage an undeclared war on Pakistan,” he said, adding that the Islamabad blast represents an attempt to “break Pakistan’s internal security through fear and chaos.”

While India has dismissed these allegations as “unfounded,” Pakistan’s security establishment maintains that intelligence and financial trails link RAW operatives to both the TTP and Baloch separatist groups.

This bombing marks the most significant attack on Islamabad in nearly a decade. According to Pakistan’s Interior Ministry, Fitna al-Khawarij has carried out over 600 attacks this year alone mostly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa leaving hundreds dead, including soldiers, policemen, and civilians.

“Today’s attack proves that the war imposed on Pakistan has entered our cities,” a senior ISPR official said. “These militants are not fighting for religion but for their foreign masters.”

The Defence Ministry has also warned that Pakistan’s patience with Kabul is “wearing thin,” as Afghan-based groups continue to infiltrate border regions and target Pakistani law-enforcement and military personnel.

Following the attack, Pakistan’s armed forces launched coordinated counterterror operations across Khyber, Bannu, and North Waziristan. Intelligence agencies have also been directed to dismantle any domestic networks aiding Fitna al-Khawarij cells.

“Whether they hide in Afghanistan or conspire from Delhi, we will hunt down every enemy of Pakistan,” said Khawaja Asif. “This is now a war for our survival.”

High security alerts have been issued for Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, and Quetta as the National Security Council meets to review evidence of cross border involvement. Pakistan is expected to share new intelligence with the United Nations and friendly nations in the coming days.

The Islamabad attack underscores Pakistan’s evolving security reality: an externally sponsored hybrid war designed to destabilize the country through terror and misinformation.

As the Defence Minister emphasized, this conflict has crossed from the borderlands into the nation’s political and judicial heart. The perpetrators, he said, “represent the same ideology that killed our children in APS Peshawar and our soldiers in Waziristan.”

Pakistan, he vowed, “will not bow to any proxy or its foreign sponsors.”
